4 ways to beat nervousness around women and people:

Hello everyone,

I know a lot of us may find ourselves at points where we begin to feel overwhelmed. This is usually when around women, as well as around people we don’t know extremely well. I thought I might focus on that today.

For some of us getting nervous can be discouraging and I know a lot of us would do whatever we could to have control over it. I decided to put together a little list of things, I do personally, to combat becoming anxious or nervous.

#1-Count in your head:

This is something I tell my students to do when they first start doing day-game. I tend to do a lot of day-game. I do day-game because day-game in New York City is one of the quickest ways to end up with a beautiful girlfriend.

A lot of the times, when we’re out, I have them asking how to deal with the feeling of anxiousness when they are talking to a girl for the first time. I tell them to count in their head over and over again. It can be from 1-10 or 1-50; it doesn’t really matter. The idea is to take your mind off the fact that you feel this anxiety.

#2-Affirmations:

If you are familiar with ‘Self-help’ then you might already know what this is. The idea is to tell yourself something along the lines of “I don’t doubt myself.” You do this over and over while getting that overwhelming sensation that makes you unsure of yourself(ie. Anxiety).

Trust me these work and especially at the beginning; but after awhile you won’t even need them anymore. Once you’ve started having success with some really high-quality women, then your inner-game will be sound enough that all you have to focus on is building comfort and escalating.

#3-Breathe:

Here is another obvious, yet under-rated way to keep your head in the game. A lot of us get nervous around women and don’t even realize that we are holding our breath. Don’t do this, it will increase your anxiety and make you even more uncomfortable.

Try breathing in and out at a slow and steady pace right now. Do it 10 times and pay attention to how you are feeling. You might feel your body start to gradually adjust and start becoming more at ease with each breath.

Also, focusing on your breathing will help you feel more in touch with your body, so you are not allowing yourself to over-analyze.

#4-Work out:

Yes, yes, this is a given but I can’t help but stress the importance of this again and again… Exercise lowers cortisol levels(The Stress Hormone) while releasing dopamine, serotonin and endorphins; which all make you feel really good.

The more you exercise and if you exercise before going out to a club or social gathering, then you will be more likely to have a better time. This is because you will be experiencing a natural high; a high that will leave you relaxed and more in control.

So now you have some new things to add to your arsenal…

I also included a link to a great book that will teach you more ways to become more sure of yourself while dealing with socializing and everyday life; allow me to present to you Robert Greene’s “The 33 Strategies of War”. This is a great guide to the subtle social game of everyday life informed by the … military principles in war.
